Substantive Editing
This part of the process is the heavy lifting, and is normally where we would begin if you have not sent your book to an editor or proof reader before. The first thing to do is to send me a 2000 word word doc. section of your manuscript for FREE. Through this we can determine the level of corrective or adjustment work needed to make your work shine. I will return it with tracked changes on spelling, grammar, punctuation and suggestions on plot, structure and flow. Whether you intend to use my services or not this is still a worthwhile thing to do. It helps to determine if we would be a good fit, and for some people this is enough to help you tidy up your entire manuscript and reduce costs on your own.

Proof reading
Proof reading is the final stage before publishing your now polished novel. The plot is solid, the language is consistent and appropriate, and everything is where it should be. Most of the errors will have been eradicated and it just needs a final meticulous fingertip search for spelling, punctuation and layout. If you want your work to be the best that it can be, then this final process is a must. If we worked on the substantive editing, your manuscript will be proofread for the lower cost. If you are new to me and just want the proofreading service, then send me a 2000 word doc. section for FREE and receive back a tracked changes document to determine costs.

Spread the cost
I am happy to help you to spread the cost and manage your budget by working on small sections of your manuscript at a time. Many authors find that sections of around 10k words keeps things manageable , especially if you do not spend all day every day writing for a living and actually have a life and a job.

An example would be a relatively clean MS that needs proofreading only set at my lowest rate at only £50-£10 = £40 (Not to forget, you would receive the first 2k FREE.)
